Charles Mahoney (1903–1968) was one of Britain’s most distinctive figurative painters, celebrated for his luminous depictions of gardens, richly observed interiors, decorative murals and imaginative compositions. Trained at the Royal College of Art, where he formed lifelong friendships with artists including Barnett Freedman and Edward Bawden, Mahoney combined meticulous draughtsmanship with a deep appreciation of the beauty found in everyday life.
