DESCRIPTION

The most famous practitioner of Parrot or Cannel Coal was Thomas Williamson, who worked on the Wemyss Castle estate and was noticed by Prince Albert and Victoria on their yearly progression to Balmoral, as a result of which he was invited to exhibit at the Great Exhibition.
