Boudard is recorded as having been wounded at the First Battle of the Marne in September 1914.  He subsequently worked at one of the √âCOLES DE BLESS√âS (24, Bd des Capucines) producing painted wooden figures in silhouette of French and German soldiers, two examples of which are in the collection of the Imperial War Museum, (dating to 1917) and one (dating to 1916) is at the Historial de la Grande Guerre in  Péronne. A further set can be seen at The Musée de l’Armée in Paris
